A Day Out with Teens That Doesn’t End in Eyerolls

A Day Out with Teens That Doesn’t End in Eyerolls | Nafsika II

Planning a family day out with teens is like playing
roulette with hormones. One minute they’re keen, the next they’re buried in a
hoodie muttering “I’m bored” while you wonder why you didn’t just stay home and
order takeaway.

But hear us out: this isn’t that kind of day.

This is sun, sea, souvlaki, and zero Wi-Fi guilt. This is Nafsika II, cruising out of Latchi Harbour, blasting just enough Greek vibes to keep Dad dancing and just enough space for teens to pretend they don’t know you (in a good way).

It’s Not a Tour. A Day Out with Teens (proof) adventure.

Here’s the thing: we’ve been doing this since 1982. That’s over 40 years of hearing the same thing from relieved parents:

“They actually had fun. Like… real, human, smiling fun.”

From the moment we cast off, we make it easy for teens to just be. No pressure. No forced fun. Just sunshine, soft drinks, loud(ish) music, and plenty of reasons to ditch the phone for a splash in the sea.

Top Deck Tantrums? Not on Our Watch.

Our top deck is prime real estate. Teens love it. It’s their territory — the unofficial zone for sunbathing, showing off dive moves, and pretending not to be impressed by the coastline (spoiler: they are).

Then there’s the Blue Lagoon jump moment. No one forgets it.

And don’t even get us started on the waterslide. Yep, teens go from “nah, I’m good” to “film me!” in 30 seconds’ flat. Trust us.

BBQ That Earns You Cool Parent Points

Once we drop anchor, the smell of charcoal does the heavy lifting. Souvla (Chicken & Pork) with Halloumi for non-meat eaters, and salad served on the boat while you float lazily in the sun? Even your moody 14-year-old will call that decent.

We keep it casual. Plates in laps, juice or wine in hand, feet dipped in crystal-clear water. You didn’t know “family lunch” could look like this, did you?

Tunes, Tan Lines, and Teen-Approved Day Out with Vibes

We keep the soundtrack light and the vibes lighter. There’s always a bit of Zorba, but also whatever’s trending that month — we’ve had everything from Bee Gees to Doja Cat playing while a group of friends filmed a TikTok on the bow.

Our crew? Equal parts babysitter, DJ, lifeguard, and unofficial teen wrangler. They’ll get even the shyest teens to smile. (And no, you don’t have to bribe them.)

A Day Out with Teens – Your Survival Kit

Do pack:

  • Towel and swimwear (obviously)
  • A hoodie — they will pretend it’s cold
  • Waterproof phone pouch (because we’re not going after that iPhone)
  • Snacks… oh wait, we’ve got those covered

Don’t pack:

  • Expectations of deep family bonding. That happens by accident.

5 Signs Your Day Out with Teens Secretly Had a Great Time

  1. They ask to go again — but pretend it’s “just for the food.”
  2. You catch them smiling in a candid photo.
  3. They dive off the boat without being told.
  4. You hear them tell a friend it was “actually kinda sick.”
  5. They don’t ask for Wi-Fi.

Ready to Ditch the Eye-Rolls?

Join us aboard Nafsika II. It’s the family day out where no one argues about museums, everyone gets fed, and teens actually thank you (probably in their own weird way).

Catch you on the water,
